Novel device development - the UPC approach (1)

UPC take an experienced-based, pragmatic approach to creating a novel device to suit a new chemical entity or more likely a range of drug products. We fully understand that the engineering (our expertise) of the device and the formulation development is very like a marriage - a constant work in progress until the point of launch. Our outlook is always positive - how can our skills or new ideas help to deliver compound from the device, how ever far down the development path it is? A no-blame culture abounds to support this successful approach to device development.
Concept Models - At the project front-end we will explore an array of device options, exploring form and function until the team is satisfied we have a attractive winning formula. This is not a time to rush towards the end goal, but a time for reflection and deep thought to ensure the device candidate is optimal from all aspects of user interface, its design and manufacture. Building in design integrity must start here - we would expect the detailed functional requirements specification to be complete at the same time as the paint dries on the pretty models.
